Privacy Policy for GoodTracker
Last Updated: March 3, 2026
GoodTracker ("we," "our," or "the App") is committed to protecting your privacy while providing advanced AI-driven nutritional insights. This policy explains how we handle your data in compliance with Google Play Developer Policies, the India Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act 2026, and the IT (Intermediary Guidelines) Rules 2026.
1. Information We Collect
We collect only the data necessary to provide our core health and fitness services:
- Account Identifiers: Email address and name (via Firebase Authentication) to sync data across devices.
- Health & Body Metrics: Weight, height, age, and sex. This data is used solely to calculate your Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) and daily nutritional targets.
- Multimedia Content: Images of food captured via the "Snap & Track" feature.
- App Interaction Data: Logs of food entries and activity to generate your "Coach's Hard Truth" feedback.
- Technical Data: Device IDs and Android Advertising ID (AD_ID) for stability (Crashlytics) and anonymous usage analytics.
2. AI & Synthetically Generated Information (SGI)
In compliance with the 2026 IT Rules for Synthetic Media, please note:
- AI Identification: All nutritional analysis and "Coach" feedback are generated using Artificial Intelligence (Gemini, Llama, and Mistral models). These are Synthetically Generated Information (SGI) and do not constitute advice from a human professional.
- AI Training: We do not use your personal meal photos or private health data to train our own AI models. Your data is processed in real-time and remains yours.
- Labeling: AI-generated content within the app is clearly labeled to ensure you can distinguish between automated estimates and verified data.
3. Accuracy & Medical Disclaimer (CRITICAL)
By using GoodTracker, you acknowledge the following:
- AI Margin of Error: Nutritional analysis is based on probabilistic AI models. All calorie and macronutrient counts should be treated as estimates with a 10%–15% margin of error.
- Not a Medical Device: GoodTracker is a general wellness tool and is NOT a medical device. It is not intended to diagnose, treat, or manage medical conditions such as Diabetes, hypertension, or eating disorders.
- User Responsibility: You must not rely on GoodTracker for critical medical decisions (e.g., insulin dosing). Always cross-reference AI estimates with official product labels or your own research, especially if you have a medical condition.
- Consult a Professional: Always seek the advice of a physician or qualified health provider before starting a new diet or exercise program.
4. How We Share Your Data
We never sell your personal information. We only share data with essential processors:
- Google Firebase: For encrypted storage, authentication, and performance monitoring.
- AI Providers (Google/Groq/Mistral): Meal photos are shared with these providers for real-time analysis. This data is transmitted anonymously without your personal account identifiers.
- Email Services: Used strictly to send your requested Weekly Nutrition Reports.
5. Your Rights (DPDPA 2026 Compliance)
Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, you have the following rights:
- Right to Correction & Erasure: You can update your data or delete your account at any time via App Settings.

6. Data Security & Retention
- Security: All data is encrypted in transit using TLS/SSL and at rest within Firebase’s secure infrastructure.
- Retention: We retain data only while your account is active. If your account is inactive for more than 24 months, we will anonymize or delete your records.
